ALFRA flexible silos are ideal for raw materials with poor flow characteristics or products that easily cause bridging or rat holes. They help ensuring consistent weighing and dosing results and avoid production loss.

Flexible silos

The flexible silos are made from a special coated textile that is supported at regular intervals by form-frames. In addition to the flexible material, they can also be equipped with special air-bellows or pneumatic activators to enhance the product flow, resulting in even quicker dosing and higher accuracy. Compared to stainless steel cylindrical silos, the flexible silos offer up to 25% more volume, and up to 100% increased dosing capacity. The design improves hygiene since it ensures that minimal residue is left behind in the silos. Flexible silos are also easier and cheaper to transport and install, compared to rigid (stainless) steel silos.

Stainless steel silos

The stainless steel silos are for the common used raw materials and feature rounded internal corners for improved product flow and less residue, thus reducing the risk of contamination. Next to 304 stainless steel, silos can be made from regular steel or a specific stainless steel (such as 316).

Options and configurations

The silo deck is available as versions which are walkable or ridable with a pallet truck. An integrated silo lid control is also possible to prevent silos being filled with wrong products.
